My name is Jill Ehret, I have worked for Dr. Frank for a little over a year. When I first started they informed me that I would need to video tape my new patient appointments. I was very apprehensive at first and didn't understand the need for that, until I watched my first video with Janice. Watching myself on tape was brutal. Janice pointed out areas that needed improvement and she gave me all the tools and guidance to make those changes. Janice always says, "peel back the onion", at first I wasn't sure what she was talking about. She explained to me that just like an onion people have layers, our goal is to get them to feel comfortable enough to share their dental history with us so we can better help them. I had a very hard time at first with eye contact and body language. I had a tendency to touch my face when I was talking and I could not keep eye contact longer than 2 seconds. After reviewing my video with Janice she showed me the areas to work on. Janice taught me the importance of staying calm. When I'm calm I give off a calm vibe and it makes the patient feel calm. It was difficult at first to video tape, review and fix the areas that needed fixing, but I do not regret doing it. Taking in all the things Janice has taught me has made me valuable to my office and my patients. When you give off a positive and confident vibe your patients feel better opening up to you. Janice helped me get through some of the road blocks that were stopping me from being the best possible me. It has also helped me in my everyday life. I am much more confident in the way I talk to people, carry a conversation, body language and most important eye contact. I owe it all to Janice Hurley.
